Second Spire to the Right And Straight On ‘Till Morning

Peter Pan taught us that the way to Neverland is “Second Star to the Right and Straight on ‘till morning.” I’ll tell you a secret. I believe Neverland is real. It’s a part of all of us that blossoms and thrives as we’re children and tends to shrink as we age. It remains with us as much as we cultivate it. It exists in dreams, imagination, and wonder. It’s being transported by the swell of an orchestra or gazing deep into a starry night. It’s whimsy and playfulness. It’s curiosity and creation.

I find Neverland most often when I’m traveling, and one of the first places I experienced this was at Oxford University. I went from exhausted and grieving to dazzled and delighted. I began to dream again. I began to adventure again.

Oxford is the city of spires and for me, the path to Neverland. Welcome to Second Spire to the Right. Think of this page as a collection of postcards. Some stories of past travels, and some from the present. As you join me on these adventures, I hope you concoct your own as well. I can’t wait to hear the tales.
